Faith can provide individuals with a sense of hope, comfort, and resilience during difficult times. It can serve as a source of strength and motivation, helping people to maintain a positive outlook and persevere through challenges. Faith often involves a belief in a higher power or a greater purpose, which can provide a sense of meaning and guidance during adversity. Additionally, faith communities and religious practices can offer social support, encouragement and a sense of belonging, which can be very beneficial.. Studies have found that religion/spirituality can be a powerful resource and are related to self reports of well-being. People who have faith/religion tend to have less anxiety, depression and have more stability in their lives. It is important to note that the impact of religion/faith varies; it is personal and subjective. Many people today are moving away from religion, but maintain a spiritual connection and a belief in loving creator.
